Matte Foundation Causing Breakouts?

We have all had our fair share of trying a variety of foundation due to the hype. But, as consumers who forget the aspects of marketing tactics, we often forget to ask if this product is truly going to serve you!

My life has taken a huge turn when I had tried the Fenty Foundation. I had broken out as I have never seen before. It’s not to say the product is bad, its to say that not every product is meant for everyone out in the world.

With that said, here is my review of the foundation, Fenty Beauty Foundation.

Skin Type: Combination (Oily when I’m anxious)

Fenty Foundation

Pros

  • Soft Matte look

  • Somewhat Easy to blend

  • Very pigmented

 Cons:

  • Even after using a variety of setting spray, the product transfer

  • Not meant for oily skin, starts to oxidize a bit

  • Very drying, even after using a heavy moisturizer

  • Not meant for acne-prone skin, rosacea, inflamed skin

  • Does not mix well with oils

  • Does not look good when used with certain setting sprays

Now, I know most products have dimethicone and other silicones, but I personally think this product has too much of it, and causes my skin to feel trapped, and also drying. Which is why my skin feels the need to overproduce oil.  If you’d like to see a list of foundations I do love, click here!

Overall review, I wouldn’t buy this again, personally speaking. I love the coverage, but my skin was not happy with this formula.  This product is not meant for skin types like mine because of the high amounts of dimethicone, which is mentioned 4 times in their ingredient listing (wow!!).
